OUR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers help with everything we do at Orphan Acres. Building an arena one day, feeding horses the next, and harvesting hay later in the week, a volunteer's life is never boring! Whether you love horses or just want to come help out and have fun, Orphan Acres has a place for you.

Orphan Acres is an educational facility, a place for volunteers to learn and gain hands-on experience in the proper care and handling of horses. We welcome all ages and abilities and are more than happy to train new recruits. Although when you come and how long you stay are both up to you, we do ask that you give us a call beforehand to let us know when you plan to be here. What you will do while you are here depends upon what you are comfortable doing and what we need at the moment.

Some of the projects our volunteers work on include:
• Feeding animals
• Grooming horses
• Cleaning stalls
• Training/exercising horses
• Building/repairing fences
• Caring for tack and other equipment
• Haying (in summer)
• Helping tend sick or injured animals
• Construction projects
• Public relations

Wanted: Volunteer Grant Writer!
We are seeking a volunteer with grant writing skills to help us find and apply for grants in order to buy more land.

If any of these projects sound like a good fit for you, if you have other skills to offer (professional or amateur), or if you'd just like to come out and see what there is to be done, please don't hesitate to contact us. We can't wait to hear from you!
