A second Member Memo will be sent to you the week of November 27 to provide further information and emphasize the necessity of Members to Attend this meeting. We hope many members will attend and present their concerns and participate in making this important decision. Without involvement of and participation by more Members, dissolution may be Our Only Option.
The question to be presented to the Members on December 8 will be: Shall We Dissolve Latah AARP Chapter 678? If the vote is to dissolve, what steps will need to be taken? What will be results and consequences? More information will be provided as to necessary actions.
Despite efforts of Officers & Board members, there has been a decline in both participation and involvement in Latah AARP activities and events. Attendance at Member Meetings has declined from 40-50 to less than 20. Another factor, we currently have FIVE openings on Our Chapter Board of Directors and TWO officer positions are vacant. Some of those currently holding Board and Officer positions have served for five years or more. We need to hear from our Members as to the Future of Our Chapter. We need to see you December 8.
If you have questions or comments, feel free to email President Louise at 208-882-2789 or by email to regelinl@genesee-id.com. We hope to hear from you and See You on December 8.
AARP meetings are open to all and free public seating will be available. You need not purchase lunch to attend the program.
