Our
organization began meeting at the University of Idaho
Preschool
Lab in 1979. MPTC's basic
philosophy is to provide a family oriented program with an
equal emphasis on a support group for positive parenting and a quality
play group experience for children. We currently rent facilities at the
Latah County Fairgrounds. MPTC is an autonomous, self supporting group,
organized and maintained by the parents whose children are enrolled.
MPTC
employs up to three directors who facilitate and coordinate the
program. There is also a treasurer and a secretary on staff. Together
with the directors, these 4 or 5 officers constitute the executive
board. We elect a Board of Directors, which
include past and present members of MPTC. The Board of Directors serve
as a policy making board and meet monthly throughout the year. All
Board meetings are open to the full membership. In all other areas,
parents' participation is required by serving on various committees.
