GBLT's Audio/Video Library

By Rich Langstaff

The library at Sara's place is becoming a multi-media resource center. Video tapes of Rinpoche include: Mahamudra teachings on training the proper view (for everyone); Dzambala teachings (appropriate for initiates only); and Green Tara teachings (appropriate for initiates only). There are also tapes of Chuck Damov's Dharma discourse (days 1 & 2). Soon there will be a copy of Rinpoche's public talk on death and dying as well as cassette copies of Chuck Damov's talk including Friday night.

I apologize for the quality of some of the tapes. Use them as instructional, without expectation and I'm sure that you will not be disappointed. Also, I have found that if you do the prayers and meditations along with the tapes, they will be of greater benefit.

Please treat the tapes well, keeping them away from heat, playing them at room temperature, and storing them away from strong electromagnetic fields (TV's, computer monitors, microwave ovens, speakers.) This way they will be of benefit to more folks.

Treasurer's Report

By Carolea Webb

Two months ago, Sara Wells and a few others came up with the idea that I would make a good treasurer. I think this was very kind of them. Knowing that I was in a state of spiritual confusion, they gave me a job firmly rooted in samsara.

Until recently, the center was in a very precarious position financially speaking. The bank account would have been overdrawn on more than one occasion if certain members (who shall remain nameless) did not absorb costs and/or make timely donations. But, due to the establishment of membership dues and modest net income from teachings, the center has gained a measure of financial stability. As of October 17, our balance was just over $200 with all expenses met to date.

I invite those of you who have not yet become contributing members to join us in our financial support of the center. The membership program is outlined on the membership page, and a more detailed membership flyer is available for those interested. Of course, the goals of the GBLT are spiritual not material. We want everyone to participate. If you cannot afford a membership, consider making smaller donations. Or, you may want to be particularly generous with your time. There is always work to do, particularly associated with scheduled workshops.

Whether you donate your time, money, or both, your contributions are very important and appreciated! And, if you have any ideas about GBLT finances, please let me know.
