The Playground Build Story

The photos are arranged in a "story" sequence, left to right and top to bottom. The "story" is slanted for viewing by Central Lions members. E.g., it has "in-house/in-club" meaning.

Hey, we're gonna build this playground. We're the guys who know how to build it! Lions Donna and Betty signed up 109 volunteers on build day. Lion Bob says, "Let's get that hole to correct depth!"

Really now! Is this how this thing goes together? Okay, Lion Bill.  Yer doin' good. Lions Jon and John: This is a great Lions project. No complaints. Everybody having fun. We always wanted to work our way to the top.
We're almost ready for Build Day. Another preliminary stage of assembly completed. Yep, the pole looks straight. Are the poles in the right holes?
Lion Dale walks by work to be done. Who says you have to have a gallery to see sculptured art? Where do these pictures go? Yes, here's that part, right here in the plans.

Lions in a well-deserved grub break. Making concrete. Lion John F:" Hey, Everybody, come get the chips!" There's the chips.  Let's go help.
Give a Lion a shovel and he smiles. The chip parade goes on and on and on .... Never too young to help. Spreading chips to cushion falling children.
Helping hands.  109 volunteers for Build Day. Line up for the official ribbon cutting. Three of Moscow's finest young lads cut the ribbon. The finished project ... Yippee!
Sidewalk superintendents ... Every project needs them. Build Day plus two days --- Kids playing while parents watch. How many kids can you put on a spiral slide? How can this climbing wall be so much fun?
  "Hey, this is too easy!" The joyous expression on the face of a child epitomizes the impact of this gift to the community. Thank you, Central LIons!
