September 15, 2010 meeting topic: Program "Mediation and EEO Disputes in Organizations"
Guest speaker Dr. Deborah Norum, CPM will give a presentation which she will also be giving at the IMA state conference in Boise the following weekend. The presentation will discuss what the EEOC is, what the grounds are for filing a complaint based on Title VII, ADA, and ADEA. It will also include some case studies and the process of a complaint.

Deborah is founder of her own consulting firm and has 25 years experience developing organizational leadership and executive career potential, working with management change, providing career development and transition, and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and is an IMA Certified Professional Mediator (CPM) on the Idaho Supreme Court civil and child custody rosters. Dr. Norum has additional training as an EEO Federal Sector Investigator and certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF).
April 20, 2010 meeting topic: Program: "Mediation Roundtable"
Guest speaker Deborah Norum, CPM will lead a discussion of mediation and its benefits.

March 23, 2010 meeting topic: DVD: "Beginner's Guide to Workplace Conflict"
A video produced by the Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish and Island Counties in Washington State will be shown, it's an example of a mediation of workplace conflict in a community college. Kay Keskinen, CPM, will present the video and lead a discussion of the mediation example.

February 16, 2010 meeting topic: Program: "How I Spent My ACR Conference"
Guest speaker Frances Thompson, J.D. will talk about her experience attending The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) annual conference last fall, highlighting some of the workshops she attended. Frances works as the Court Assistance Officer for Latah County and coordinator for Latah County’s Small Claims Mediation Program. Before joining the Court Assistance Offices Project, she had a private general practice in law and mediation, which included providing continuing education activities and programs for mediators and attorneys, as well as public education programs. Frances received an Outstanding Service Award from the Idaho State Bar in 2003, and a Peacemaker award from the Peaceful Settlements Foundation in 1995.
