Region II Chapter of the IMA

Tue, April 19, 2011: Program: "Law and Order: The Challenges Facing Criminal Mediation" with guest speakers Jeff Slack and John Anderson, both Law students at the University of Idaho. Their presentation discusses the emerging practice of mediation in criminal cases and then focuses on the challenges inherent in the use of judges as mediator.
We do not meet in the months of May, June, July, or August
No Fall meetings have been scheduled yet.
The next meeting of the Region II chapter of the IMA (Region II includes the counties of Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, and Nez Perce) has not been scheduled. We tend to meet on the third Tuesday at 6:30 PM in the meeting room of the Jack in the Box restaurant located on West Pullman Road in Moscow.
A short business meeting will start at 6:30, with program and guest speaker following at 7:00 PM. Monthly meetings are usually on the third Tuesday of the month (usually from Sep-Nov and Feb-Apr).
The program meetings are free and open to the public.
John is a "non-traditional" 2L law student, having had a 15 year career in insurance
claims in Denver, CO prior to entering law school. He will be among the first to
graduate from the School of Law with the new "Litigation and Alternative Dispute
Resolution," (LADR) emphasis.
Jeff is a 2L law student originally from Eureka, CA. He received a B.S. in Economics from Arizona State and plans on joining the military after graduation from UI. He is interested in alternative dispute resolution in terms of business litigation and has been involved in mediation and negotiation competitions at UI.
