  Welcome, Visitors!

Our parish is located in Genesee, Idaho and has been active since 1878. The community is diverse including everyone from long time farmers to university employees and students.

We have two separate church buildings. The Genesee Valley church is a quintessential white country church set on rolling green hills. It was built by Scandinavian settlers over one hundred years ago. St. John's church is "in town" and is a beautiful brick structure with wonderful stained glass windows. It too, is over one hundred years old, built by the early German settlers in the area. The churches were operated separately until 1960. Now they are combined and share our pastor, Dave Deckard.

Our church is the hub of many local activities. We have a Christian Education program for children and adults. The youth group meets regularly for fellowship and service projects, and we have a fellowship group for young adults. Genesee attracts families because it is a safe, friendly place with an excellent school system and plenty of community involvement. This allows our parish to grow and thrive.

Our parish is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. While the parish is Lutheran, we openly welcome all to come and worship. We hope you enjoy our site as it is updated regularly with information on special services, scheduling, holiday plans and events. Bookmark us to be sure you have up-to-date information on our activities.
