Mission Statement

To give glory to the Triune God
and to present His loving message of grace
to each other, the community, and the world.

When this message was written, John Glenn and his fellow astronauts had just returned from space after their historic flight. As you know, one of the most basic skills astronauts must learn to master is how to function in an environment of 'zero gravity'. While it may be a thrill to find your body suddenly capable of flying and free-floating anywhere in the cabin, an absence of gravity can also increase the difficulty of completing a host of tasks.

Does it appear to you that more and more people in our society are expected to be astronauts-in-training, forced to learn how to live in a culture that operates in zero faithfulness to the living God? In an environment like this, like one of zero gravity, there is nothing to count on, nothing to hold onto, nothing to keep you from floating this way and that.

It is not our mission at Concordia Lutheran to sit on the sidelines bemoaning the thinning of God-less air, or to watch silently as people in our midst drift farther and farther away from God. Rather than whining on the sidelines about how awful things are in our society, we believe we have been called by God to jump into the culture and pump up the atmosphere with His grace, showing the world that in Christ there is the groundedness and the gravity that souls require for life.

We believe that the best gravitational field for the human spirit is one that is God-breathed, Christ-centered, and Spirit-driven. Within this congregation you will experience the unmistakable pull of God's grace as it comes to us through God's Word, Christ's life and the Spirit's activity in our hearts and minds. We offer worship that enables us to focus on the Lord and give Him the honor He deserves. We offer Bible studies that will further ground us in the Truth concerning Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our sins. We offer Sunday School for all ages. We offer a ministry to our youth whereby they can remain tethered to the Lord, His church, and their friends in the faith. We offer a variety of activities where our people can gather together for fun, to enjoy one another's company, and grow together in faith and love. The list of opportunities to grow in grace and love go on and on.

But, the only way you can really know what we're all about is to visit us and see for yourself how God is blessing us in this place. We look forward to meeting you. Until then, keep company with God and learn a life of love from His Son, Jesus.
