Concordia is a church where the love of God abounds! This is a unique congregation; one that welcomes with open arms, shares generously, loves unconditionally. It is our pleasure to have the opportunity to offer hospitality to any who find themselves on the WSU and UI campuses, and share with you our friendship and the saving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

As a way of introduction, I am the staff member responsible for the coordination of our Campus Ministry program. I work primarily with students from Washington State University and the University of Idaho, undergraduate and graduate. We enjoy strong participation in worship and meet regularly on Tuesday evenings for Lutheran Student Fellowship (LSF) – the LCMS national student organization. Currently on Tuesdays during the academic year, we meet downstairs at the church at 6:00 p.m. for singing, a few announcements, a student-led devotion and prayer, followed by a simple supper (no charge and prepared by students) and an occasional after-dinner activity. A completely casual come-as-you-are evening. Arriving late is fine, and leaving whenever needed is commonplace. Student schedules are notoriously unpredictable!

We flee the campuses two times each school year for weekend retreats, fall and winter. University Sunday is a special day each spring semester for our student crew when both worship services are provided solely by students. Our wonderful students also volunteer their time to our congregation in service in any way needed.

In March, 2008, LSFers traveled to Guatemala for our first-ever mission trip and had a life-changing, glorious trip. The floor of a Lutheran community center in Puerto Barrios was raised by 1½ feet by hand and over 320 children participated in VBS! It is our hope to make similar trips in the future.

The most important distinction you should know about Concordia's LSF group is our students’ dedication to each other and to God. It is apparent in the friendships forged and the pure delight they have in being together. We desire to provide a church home for these important university years that goes well beyond Sundays and Tuesdays … to real family!
