Farewell to our Fabulous LSFers
It is my pleasure and privilege to use this pace to tell you about the marvelous LSFers who are leaving us for real life! They will be missed.
- I'm Briana Lois (from my mother's mother) Arnold, born in Eugene, OR, moving to lovely Hoquiam, WA with my parents in 1998 (age 8). I attended Grays Harbor Community College for two years where I received my AA and had an emphasis in Global Studies. At the last minute (thanks to my job at the local feed store), I decided to come to WSU and study Animal Sciences, but couldn't escape my love of different cultures (well, international anything to be honest) so I've minored in Spanish and Global Studies. This whole agriculture/global studies focus has worked out nicely because after graduation I'll be interning on a dairy in Ireland for a few months then will be returning to the states to ship off for the Peace Corps (destination unknown but leaving in October and working in animal husbandry) after a bit of extended travel in Europe. Even if I don't make it to LSF every Tuesday or church every Sunday, Concordia is always in my mind. Concordia has provided me with a place to feel safe as well as rejuvenated. I may not be the most outgoing when it comes to giving devotions or things of that matter, but this church will always have a place in my heart. It has stimulated me to contemplate my life as a Lutheran and the role that God plays in my life, helping me stay close to Him. I wish many times that I had known what a kind family I would find through LSF and I could have started coming sooner to nurture the relationships that I have found here. I hope that everybody at LSF understands that even if it may not seem like it, they have made a deep and lasting impact on my soul.
- We are Richard and Ashley Leary, aka AshRick, and are both from Camas, WA. We have spent the last six years in Pullman. Rick earned a BA in History and a minor in Russian and Ashley earned a BS in Genetics and Cell Biology and a minor in Spanish. We are headed to the Portland area this August so that Rick can pursue a MS in Counseling and Ashley can pursue a BS in Nursing. Rick would like to become a therapist and Ashley would like to become a Nurse Practitioner, if we can ever finish school. We will miss our Concordia family very much but are excited to be working toward our futures!
- I am Ellie Page, from the Tri-Cities, WA. My major is Speech and Hearing Sciences. This summer I am leading mission trips for groups of high school students somewhere across the country. I haven't been told my location yet, but I am very excited. I am in charge of the evening lessons and worship time. When I return in August, I will be moving to Spokane to finish my degree on the WSU-Spokane campus. Concordia has been a wonderful place for me to come to over the last two years, and has given me a church family here at school. LSF has been a great place for me to make new friends, and a place for me to hang out on Tuesday nights when I really just needed to get away. Thank you so much for opening your arms and welcoming me over the last few years!
In Christ,
