ATVP is a not for profit organization that serves both Whitman County, Washington and Latah County, Idaho.  Offering direct services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as all victims of crime as the Crime Victim Service Center in Whitman County, Washington.  Additionally we conduct community educational and prevention programming.    All applicants must be familiar and agree with ATVP’s mission statement and philosophy regarding support to survivors.  ATVP is committed to services for all individuals and understands the importance of working on issues of oppression in order to make services accessible to all.

Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse

Position Opening:  Assistant Director

ATVP is a not for profit organization that serves both Whitman County, Washington and Latah County, Idaho.  Offering direct services to victims of crime, including survivors of domestic and sexual violence, the provision of domestic violence emergency shelter services, and educational and prevention programming and outreach.  ATVP seeks a full time assistant director who will provide coordination and oversight of direct services; related administrative, interagency coordination and public education services, to the agency.  Direct supervision of program coordinator staff.  The Assistant Director reports to and works closely with the Executive Director in providing oversight and management of the agency as a whole.  All applicants must be familiar and agree with ATVP’s mission statement and philosophy.

Position:                    F/T Assistant Director (40+ hours per week)

Reports to:                 Executive Director

Terms:                        Exempt/full-time

Compensation:         32,000-42,000 annual salary

Location:                    Pullman Office

Responsibilities and Duties:

1.      Perform all work in a culturally responsive manner consistent with ATVP’s mission statement.

2.      Direct oversight and mentoring of all staff that is consistent with agency management philosophy, including direct support and supervision of the CDVS, VIC, CSAS and the CVSCC.

3.      Provide oversight and coordination of all direct services, including debriefing with staff, providing feedback on client service provision, paperwork preparation and related client service policy issues.

4.      Ensuring appropriate scheduling of direct service staff and staff coverage.

5.      Rotation of facilitation duties for staff and management meetings.

6.      Work collaboratively with the ED on a range of administrative and coordination tasks.

7.      Oversee, train, and assist staff to compile and report accurate data for progress reports for all funding agencies.

8.      Participate in the provision of direct services as back up to other staff and volunteers.

9.      Serve as back up to the Executive Director.

10.  Rotate availability for night, weekend and holiday coverage of and response to emergency administrative situations.

11.  Maintain on-going training hours in accordance with agency standards.

12.  Maintain agency and client confidentiality as required by ATVP policy.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

1.      An understanding of and agreement with ATVP’s mission statement.

2.      A minimum of two years direct service and/or supervisory or management experience in the not-for-profit sector or human services field.

3.      Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail.

4.      Ability to be diplomatic and tactful while maintaining a strong victim advocacy perspective.

5.      Ability to work collaboratively with others at different levels.

6.      Excellent communication and presentation skills.

 

Strongly Desired Background:

1.      A minimum of two years direct service in the domestic violence and/or sexual assault advocacy field.

2.      Personnel hiring and supervision experience.

3.      Program oversight and management experience.

4.      Contract/grant compliance.

5.      Masters in relevant field.
